Today I felt really compelled to talk about the conversation around pain and how we protect ourselves based on past experiences that caused some level of trauma.
In The Untethered Soul, Michael Singer talks about something he calls “removing your inner thorn.”
He talks about how we build up the conditions in our life to protect the thorn from being brushed up against and how we in essence protect our pain and insecurities when we could just remove the thorn and experience life in a totally different way.
Today I expand on what Singer talks about here and how this relates to what we’re experiencing in the world right now and what we can do to remove those inner thorns to experience more of the life we actually want to experience.
