If you are into reading and navigate the interwebs for personal development material, you have probably came across the work of my guest today.
Mark Manson is an author, blogger and entrepreneur. He claims that he writes ‘personal development that doesn’t suck.’ His writing has appeared in Forbes, Time, Vice, and the New York Observer, among others. His blog is read by over 2 million people each month.
In this episode, we are going to dive into Mark’s new book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck. If you have been tuning into the show for a while, you will notice something new about this one.
There is some strong language here, so if that offends you, probably best to skip this one.
Given the name of the book, it was tough to talk about it without using the title in full. I will have to say though… it was pretty fun to let it rip!
We dive into topics like
- The beginning of Mark’s blogging and writing career
- What would a more healthier negative form of self-help look like?
- Mark’s greatest influences in his work
- A little bit about Mark’s creative process
- The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck
- Understanding personal values
- The diminishing return of superficial goals
- The 10 year test question Mark asked himself that woke him up to more meaningful goals
