172: STOP wishing it was easy. Do this instead.

I’m just going to come right out and say it…

If you’re hoping things would just get easier then you’re not cut out to be an entrepreneur.

Ok, now that we got that out of the way…

The truth is it’s tough. Every day comes with a new set of problems.

– Websites need maintenance.
– Client have problems.
– People drop the ball on important projects.
– There are fires to put out.
– You don’t feel like…
… making the phone call
… writing the email
… making the post
… meeting with the prospect
… reworking your marketing and messaging
… looking for new avenues to meet potential clients
… going to that event or networking meeting
… asking for help
… and the list goes on…

If you’re wasting your time hoping that things will get better by the conditions being easier, then your business is probably already slowing down.

And if you’re starting to worry then that’s completely normal. That’s your body and your mind letting you know that something needs to change.

The real question is: Are you listening?

So here’s the thing. Instead of wishing things were easier, do this instead.

Find your MEME and your personal rhythm.

There is a zone of effort. Something I call MEME – Minimum effort, maximum ease.

In this zone you’re doing the right actions to get to your goals and you’re starting to see synchronicities that are confirming you’re heading in the right direction.

You’re seeing results from the work you’re putting in AND you feel the benefits too. Instead of feeling drained and exhausted, you feel that good kind of tired. Like the kind you feel at the end of a good workout.

When you’ve accessed this zone, you can easily rest and recover and start again.

When you don’t it’s like one day rolls into the next and you’re secretly dreaming about time off instead of strategically aiming in that direction.

And we each have a personal rhythm.

A unique way that we almost coax inspiration or our “work” out of us. It’s not that you’re not inspired, it’s just that you’re not arranging your time in a way that puts your whole self into it.

When you operate in your own personal rhythm, you’re days and weeks are set up in a way that naturally flow with your cycles of activity and rest.

And when you can get into this flow it’s a lot easier to feel like yourself, operate from your strengths, and train the new skills you need to bring things to the next level.

When you don’t everything feels forced. Not only that, but you constantly feel like you have to be and act like someone else.

It’s not that things necessarily get easier, but you get way better at handling the challenges in front of you and you approach the day from a much stronger position. One that honors YOU.

And when you can apply your MEME and your own personal rhythm to your day you can craft that perfect day.

And when you can craft the perfect day, then you can have the perfect week, the perfect month, and the perfect year.

The kind where you meet and even exceed your goals. And that’s what us entrepreneurs were built for.

To test our own personal limits and have the peace of mind knowing that we did what we could do to bring our vision to life and live our lives the way we see fit.

This is the Way of the Peaceful Entrepreneur.
