165: When You Focus On Mastery You Foster Depth

When you focus on mastery you foster depth.

Seriously though… if you can’t get into the training zone and practice your craft enough to continue learning, make distinctions, and further refine your craft, then you’re not giving it the time it deserves.

You’re not executing with mastery.

Yes, there are other things you need to focus on in your business. For instance, you need to market and stay on top of projects and timelines. But if you’re just focused on those things and you’re not focused on your craft, you will lose steam.

As a coach, mentor, and creative entrepreneur, you thrive on and are fueled by what you do.

When you’re coaching, creating, or expanding your understanding you’re in that zone.

You lose track of time.

You connect the dots.

You have breakthroughs, next-levelings, and clear vision.

And when you’re done, you feel that good kind of tired. The kind when you’re satisfied with a solid days work.

Or when you’ve just got done with a killer training session.

But when you get caught in the weeds…

When you’re overly fixated on marketing and trying to keep up with the next new shiny object, or…

… when you’re constantly looking at what the competition is doing and attempting to “model” what they do, or…

… when you’re overly focused on deadlines, to dos, and what’s next…

You lose sight of the very thing that fuels the machine called your business.

But when you adjust your sights.

When you reconnect with the people you serve and the gift you’re here to give. And when you unapologetically give the shit out of that gift.

All of a sudden, the clouds lift.

It’s not magic. It’s common sense really.

When you take inventory.

When you redirect your focus to what matters most and what you do best, things start to click.

And it’s not a one time thing either.

It’s something we get to set up practices around and reconnect with every day.

If you’ve lost that drive that got you out of the gates, your focus is likely on things in your business that drain you instead of drive you. And if you’re ready to take an in-depth look at how to turn that around, then let’s chat.

There are key principles from your sport that when applied to business will show immediate results. And when you unlock those, the clouds lift for sure.
