M&M: Control What You Can and Help Your Customer Make a Swift Decision

Mindset and Marketing for Coaches and Creators

Thursday’s Mindset and Marketing for Coaches and Creators gives you actionable frames on (1) how to think about your business and how you can be more effective and (2) different shifts you can utilize to take your personal brand message and marketing to the next level.

Mindset

Control what you can control and trust the rest

There are plenty of things in life that you can control. And then there are the things you can not. Attempting to control anything that’s out of the realm of what you can control can be absolutely maddening.

But, making peace with the fact that you can’t control everything allows you to…

  • Move on quicker from disappointment
  • Find the next best step in a challenging situation
  • Embody the feeling of knowing that you did everything possible within your power
  • Act from a cool grounded and collected space

And plenty more…

Holding on to things that are outside of your control and trying to change them at all costs (or wishing they were different) can and most likely will lead to…

  • Endless frustration
  • Larger-than-life anger
  • Resentment that builds over time
  • The feeling of never enough
  • Chasing pleasure and cheap dopamine and not knowing why

And way too much more…

What it will cost you to white knuckle and control is far greater than what it’s worth.

Control what you can and trust the rest.

Marketing

Don’t make your customer work for it

There has been one specific instance where I’ve seen people take swifter action on a low-ticket event (under $60).

Over the past 6 months, I’ve supported a few different clients in marketing one-off events. In these cases, video performed really well, BUT images that provide a snapshot of the event and associated details always produced a spike in sales that specific day in the marketing cycle.

We utilized both on…

Instagram feed
Instagram story
Facebook business page
Facebook personal page
Facebook private group
Facebook event page

I’m not saying images did better than video.

I am however saying that the images massively up-leveled the number of registrations. My guess is that those who were already active in these ecosystems saw all the info in one place and instead of having to watch a video (even though they’re only 60-90 seconds) could see all the details they needed to make an informed decision.

Example…

Images like this boosted sales when combined with simple face-to-camera videos (especially in stories) like you see here.

Even when you look at the two side by side here, it makes sense why the image would boost swift action.

It’s much easier to get all the details. ESPECIALLY for highly visual people.

So the next time you’re marketing your event, webinar, workshop, digital product, etc… think about how you can make it easier for your audience to see snapshots of the full picture.

Results speak louder than words

I’d LOVE to hear how you’re applying these strategies and what results you’re seeing. Send in your story or how you put this into practice, and what you say as a result. I’ll publish it in the newsletter. When you do, let me know if you’d prefer to remain anonymous and I’ll just publish the story minus the name.
