M&M: Full Ownership and Relating Through Personal Story

Mindset and Marketing for Coaches and Creators

Thursday’s Mindset and Marketing for Coaches and Creators gives you actionable frames on (1) how to think about your business and how you can be more effective and (2) different shifts you can utilize to take your personal brand message and marketing to the next level.

Mindset

100% Responsibility

If you can own it you can change it. Ok, maybe that’s not true 100% of the time but what is? Taking 100% responsibility for the things in your life and business essentially means that you don’t have anyone or anything to blame for your current reality.

If you can own it (take 100% responsibility), you can do one of these two very important things

#1Accept it
#2Change it

Coming at the problem or situation (wanted or unwanted) from a position of anything less than full responsibility for it’s existence gives your power away to the thing that you hold responsible.

Assuming responsibility pulls your power back and could give you the outlook you need to make peace with what’s in front of you.

Marketing

Personal stories and your marketing

If you’re a coach or creator, then you fall under the umbrella of a personal brand. As a personal brand, being able to communicate and share personal stories is a must.

Done well this type of marketing brings the reader into your past experiences, makes you more relatable, and teaches something in the process.

Not done well, it sounds like it’s all about you, and the reader is left wondering what to do with what they just consumed.

This took me years to get good at.

If you’re still sharpening the axe of storytelling and you could use a little support, I put together a resource, 10 Days of Transformation, with prompts and example posts to walk you through how to create these types of stories with a bit more ease.

There’s no exact formula for how many of these to use, but I typically aim for about 10-20% of my content to be through the lens of personal stories.

If you’re just sharing more educational types of content and you don’t feel connected to your audience I’d challenge you to do these 10 posts for the next 10 days.

If you end up doing this, I’d love to see what you create. Tag me (@jeffagostinelli) or mention me in the comments and use the tag #10daysoftransformation.

Results speak louder than words

I’d LOVE to hear how you’re applying these strategies and what results you’re seeing. Send in your story or how you put this into practice, and what you say as a result. I’ll publish it in the newsletter. When you do, let me know if you’d prefer to remain anonymous and I’ll just publish the story minus the name.
