092: Conditioning a Miracle Mindset and The Power of Forgiveness with JJ Virgin

We all have a particular journey in life, lessons to learn, and a path that leads us to those lessons. Before I came across personal development, and the art and science of maintaining your mindset, food was my medicine. It still is the foundation of my lifestyle, and being nimble in thought, feeling, and action is the #1 skill I continue to zero in on and develop in my every day life, and especially when life presents it’s unique challenges.

My guest today has a long track record of success in the fitness and nutrition space. Her most recent book, Miracle Mindset: A Mother, Her Son, and Life’s Hardest Lessons tells the story of her son’s near fatal accident that called upon all her mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual resources to continue moving forward and keeping faith through a very challenging time.

Celebrity nutrition and fitness expert JJ Virgin teaches clients how to eliminate food and carb intolerances so they can transform their health and their lives. As co-host of TLC’s Freaky Eaters and health expert on Dr. Phil, JJ is a prominent TV and media personality, including appearances on PBS, Dr. Oz, Rachael Ray, Access Hollywood, and the TODAY Show. JJ is the author of four NY Times bestsellers: The Virgin Diet, The Virgin Diet Cookbook, JJ Virgin’s Sugar Impact Diet, and JJ Virgin’s Sugar Impact Diet Cookbook.

Her latest book, Miracle Mindset, shows warrior moms how to be strong, positive leaders for their families, while exploring the inspirational lessons JJ learned as she fought for her own son’s life. JJ hosts the popular JJ Virgin Lifestyle Show podcast and regularly writes for Huffington Post, Rodale Wellness, Mind Body Green and other major blogs and magazines. In addition to her work with nutrition and fitness, JJ is also a business coach and founded the premier health entrepreneur event and community, The Mindshare Summit.

Today we dive into JJ’s story of what she did to navigate this challenging time and how she maintained focus on her son being able to live a thriving life again, even after what seemed like many end of the road situations along the way.
