In the past few years I’ve grown more and more fond of deep and meaningful conversations. Connecting with people on a deeper level has become a bit of a hobby.
My guest today just launched a new series called Beyond the Beers – Conversations With Men That Break The Stereotype.
Man Coach, author and creator/host of the new show for men ‘Beyond The Beers’, Mike helps men find significance, worth and personal power. By challenging the broken model of manhood, he helps men to get out of their own way, and in doing so become their own perfect mix of James Bond, Nelson Mandela & Batman.
Plus he loves to cook, eat and talk to his food. He loves his fiancée, stone fruit, cold beer, red wine, and to think of himself as a low level Batman. He also likes to lift heavy things and play Goldeneye on his vintage Nintendo 64.
Today we get into the newly emerging model of masculinity, and more.
We dive into topics like
- Why Mike started Beyond the Beers
- Why it’s challenging for men, in general, to take the conversation beyond the surface
- The mask of faux masculinity
- The danger of comparison
- The pitfalls of the current model of masculinity
- Defining what success means to you
- Cultivating Self-Intelligence
- Finding direction, purpose, and meaning in life
- Piecing together the new model of masculinity
